A few images from West of Here, where some of the poetry offered up on this site has found its way recently into the hands of kind caretakers. Admittedly it is kind of thrilling to know this work travels far better than its author…
Goat has never been on a Vancouver cafe run before (at least as far as I know). So thanks, MB, for expanding my horizons! And many thanks to all of you who’ve taken one poem or another for a ride in your mind or your car, wherever you are.
And Goat has been to an Istanbul tea garden and will soon, I promise, sit on a bench looking out at the Aegean Sea in Izmir. That’s not west, though. Just farther east.
Istanbul tea garden? bench by the Aegean Sea? Send me some photos, L. I’m starting to feel like an intrepid world traveler by proxy…and it’s, y’know, empowering.
Now Mei Yao-ch’en is gonna be wicked jealous, because I don’t have him in a book yet.
Ah, but you should, you know. Those poems are favorites of mine.
Istanbul? Izmir? We must get some pics of Goat on the Aegean. Lying down, of course.
I agree, Maureen. Leonard, we need some glamour shotz of G from your neck of the woods.
I love this post, for many reasons. Thanks, Jeff and MB!
Goat is rumored to have taken residence in a shack in Austin, Texas. There’s also a possibility that he’ll make an appearance in Napa Valley in another week or so. He does get around.
Look for Goat to visit Seattle and San Francisco in August. Goat has expressed a wish to visit the City Lights Bookstore, home of the beat poets. I am worried about Goat’s tendency to lie down in traffic but am thinking that it’s just a misunderstood poet Goat thing?
Goat at City Lights would be awesome. I just know he’d behave.
I want Goat.
Act now, before his head gets any bigger.
