Rehearsal
Reading together on the couch. In wordless motion
my daughter gets up and walks out of sight.
Just to the kitchen, this time, for water, but I sit quietly
and prepare, listening to her steps moving away.

Sweet sentiment – evokes empathy and emotion with so few words. Great title as well.
Thank you!
Lovely, Jeff.
Thanks, Andrea. I got some nice time with my oldest daughter yesterday afternoon and this just came naturally out of that time.
Scary, no? Nicely put.
Many thanks–
WOW. Somehow I missed this poem. All that is not there is so powerfully present.
Thanks E! You got it.
