After a Mid-March Snowstorm
Winter’s last silent sigh
is borne quietly by mountain pines
Clouds drift like tumblers until
they unlock the day’s first color

What a beautiful view
Two days later and all the snow is gone. Off the side of Afton Mountain where route 64 crosses the Blue Ridge, looking east.

Thank you! Though that first stanza wants at least one fewer word. Two words about silence is three too many! But I’m working on it. It’ll be revised by the time the whole “Drift” is pulled together. Just wanted to go ahead and post it today.
